The Boone County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that a Sheridan woman was killed Thursday morning in a collision involving a Boone Power truck.
Jessica Muller, 45, was trapped in her SUV after the crash, which occurred at the intersection of County Roads 500 E. and 300 S. in Whitestown. The truck was driven by Dustin Baker of Lebanon, who called 911 to report the crash shortly before noon, according to Detective Morganne Carpenter.
Emergency responders found Muller unresponsive with visible injuries. She was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where Boone County Coroner Justin Sparks confirmed she later died from her injuries.
Baker was taken to Witham Hospital for evaluation and a blood draw. The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating, a standard procedure in all fatal crashes.
Boone Power issued a statement expressing condolences:
“We are deeply saddened by the fatality that resulted from an accident involving a Boone Power vehicle today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victim. We are working with local officials to conduct a thorough investigation.”
This marks the fifth fatal crash in Boone County in 2025, bringing the county’s death toll to 10. Two of those crashes each claimed three lives.
