Job Fair Plus Comes to Boone County September 18, Offering Career and Community Connections

The Boone County Chamber of Commerce will host Job Fair +, presented by Lilly, on Thursday, September 18, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds – Witham Pavilion.

The event goes beyond the scope of a traditional job fair by offering an accessible space where job seekers can explore employment opportunities, meet face-to-face with employers, and connect with community resources that support long-term success.

“Job Fair + is designed to not only connect people with employers but also with resources like childcare, transportation, and training that help remove barriers to success,” said Sean Reaves, Executive Director of the Boone County Chamber of Commerce.

The fair will coincide with the Community Foundation of Boone County’s Volunteer Fair, giving attendees the chance to discover local volunteer opportunities and strengthen community ties while exploring career options.

Shawna Lake, Board Vice President and Chair of the Chamber’s Community Connections Committee, emphasized the dual purpose: “Job Fair + helps bridge the gap between finding a job and having the tools to thrive. Partnering with the Volunteer Fair adds another layer of impact.”

What attendees can expect:

  • Employers hiring in healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, education, and public service

  • On-the-spot interviews and resume assistance

  • Employers focused on Second Chance, veterans, and multilingual opportunities

  • Community resources addressing transportation, childcare, and training needs

  • Access to volunteer opportunities across Boone County

Admission is free. Job seekers are encouraged to register in advance at boonechamber.org/job-fair-plus-attendees.
