Several members of Indiana’s House Democrat Caucus will travel to Chicago on Wednesday to meet with Democratic lawmakers from Texas.
The Texas legislators have been in Illinois for several weeks in an effort to prevent a vote in their state legislature on proposed changes to congressional district maps. By remaining out of Texas, the group has denied the quorum needed for the redistricting vote to proceed.
The meeting in Chicago is expected to focus on legislative strategy and the political implications of the ongoing standoff in Texas.
