A local husband and wife team are hoping to have a big impact on our community. Established in 2024, Healing Hope Recovery has begun making a meaningful impact across Clinton County, with a suite of faith-inspired initiatives aimed at helping those facing homelessness, addiction, and hardship. Organizers Amanda Anderson-Swindle and her husband Carl Swindle says it combines community outreach with spiritual support—and offers multiple avenues for residents to contribute or connect.
Serving Without Walls: Daniel’s Mission
Daniel’s Mission acts as a “ministry without walls,” serving Frankfort’s homeless population in the absence of a permanent building. Offering meals, hygiene services, recovery support, Bible study sessions, and practical help with social determinants of health, the initiative is designed as the city’s first day-time homeless shelter and outreach hub.
Winter Warmth: Cover Clinton County
Through Cover Clinton County, Healing Hope Recovery operates discreet “take some, leave some” drop boxes scattered around the county. Community members are invited to donate clothes and supplies—or help themselves as needed—especially to stay warm during colder months.
Small Cards, Big Impact: The Hope Card Project
The Hope Card Project encourages anonymous, everyday acts of kindness. Cards are paired with small deeds—like dropping off food, offering favors, or encouraging smiles—to foster hope and connection across neighborhoods.
Comprehensive Support: Jason’s Place
Jason’s Place is a planned recovery residence tailored to pregnant women facing substance use disorder. Offering up to one year postpartum support—life skills training, spiritual guidance, and a nurturing home—it aims to foster long-term recovery for both mothers and their newborns.
Community Connection: Backyard Bible Study
Every week, Backyard Bible Study offers a welcoming, non-denominational space for fellowship, prayer, and gospel-centered learning. Held online and in person, it’s open to all who seek a supportive spiritual community.
