Frankfort Main Street Advances For $120,000 Music Grant

Frankfort Main Street, in partnership with the City of Frankfort, has reached the public voting phase in a national competition to secure up to $120,000 for a free outdoor music series beginning in 2026.

The funding opportunity comes from the Levitt Foundation, a national nonprofit that supports the largest free outdoor concert series in the country. Grants are awarded in multi-year cycles, providing up to $40,000 annually for three years to communities selected to host a Levitt Music Series. Each series includes seven to ten free concerts featuring diverse, professional musicians, transforming public spaces into vibrant cultural destinations.

Frankfort’s proposal calls for concerts at Prairie Creek Park and other downtown venues. It is now posted on the Levitt Foundation website, where community members can cast their votes online at levitt.org/vote or by texting the word FRANKFORT to 877-409-5525. Voting runs from September 5 at 10 a.m. PT through September 15 at 5 p.m. PT.

The number of votes received will play a key role in determining which communities advance as finalists. Fifty proposals nationwide will move forward based on public input, with winners announced November 18, 2025.

Frankfort leaders are encouraging residents to share the voting link with friends, family, and neighbors to help bring the music series to town.

Votes can be submitted at levitt.org/vote or directly at vote.levitt.org/locations/frankfort-main-street-inc.
