Commissioners Approve 103K For Courthouse Elevator, Discuss Hardy Hills Agreements

Clinton County Commissioners met Wednesday morning. Items on the docket included a request for $103,000+ to modernize the current elevator in the courthouse during the renovations that are set to take place next year. This move by the Commissioners is a proactive decision as any repairs would take an extended period of time should it go out of order, given the age of the current parts and equipment.

Commissioners also approved a proposal from the Area Plan Commission to update flood zoning ordinances to align with new state requirements.

Commissioner Bert Weaver raised concerns over the lack of mowing at the new Hardy Hills solar farms. There was discussion concerning the agreement from Hardy Hills to keep certain areas maintained vs the areas that will be kept as pollinating wild grasses. The land outside of the fencing is the area that Hardy Hills agreed to maintain when finalizing this project.

The new roundabout at I65/28 is set to be completed on or about July 3rd.
