Clinton County Offices Begin Move

After years of planning and construction, Clinton County government offices are preparing to relocate from the historic Courthouse to the newly built County Annex Building beginning Monday, October 20. Officials expect the full transition to take about two weeks.

The three-story, 41,925-square-foot Annex Building sits at the corner of Main and Washington Streets, on the former site of the Regions Bank complex that was demolished in early 2023. County leaders say the new facility will improve accessibility, centralize public services, and offer the infrastructure needed to support modern operations.

Office Layout in the New Annex Building:

  • First Floor: Surveyor, Area Plan Commission, Veterans’ Service Officer, County Commissioner and Council Offices, and Meeting Rooms
  • Second Floor: Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder, and Assessor
  • Third Floor: Temporary space for Courtrooms, Jury Rooms, Clerk, and Prosecutor
  • Basement: County Archives

During the moving process, several offices will close temporarily while equipment and records are transferred. Each department will announce its own closure dates in advance. Residents are encouraged to check the County’s official website and social media channels for updates.

“This move is an important milestone for Clinton County,” said Jordan Brewer, President of the Clinton County Commissioners. “We know a move of this size can be disruptive, and we appreciate the public’s patience. We’ve taken great care to plan this transition to minimize the impact.”

Once renovations to the historic Courthouse are complete, the Courts, Clerk, and Prosecutor will return to that building, while other County offices will remain in the new Annex.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and public grand opening will be scheduled after the relocation is finalized. Updates on closures and moving progress can be found at www.clintonco.com or by following Clinton County, Indiana on Facebook. A couple additional photos have been shared by the county below.
