The community is invited to gather at Prairie Creek Park on Friday, October 4, for a special Mural Dedication Ceremony honoring a new piece of public art. The event will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will be held between performances during the city’s Summer Concert Series.
The mural, created by artist Ricardo Cortez, is being celebrated not only for its artistic impact but also for the community collaboration that made it possible. Local leaders expressed deep gratitude to Cortez for his talent and dedication, as well as to the Psi Iota Xi Sorority for their support of the project.
Organizers say the mural is expected to become a lasting source of pride and inspiration for Frankfort residents and visitors alike.
“We’re excited to bring the community together to celebrate this wonderful addition,” event planners said. “This artwork reflects the heart of our city and will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
The ceremony will take place at Prairie Creek Park, 260 East Washington Street, as part of the ongoing effort to enrich downtown Frankfort with art and cultural experiences.
