The community’s popular outdoor market will continue through October before moving indoors to the Edward Jones Building for the colder months. Organizers say they are still short about one month’s rent and are asking the community for help to keep the market going strong.
Small Town Gal Boutique and Designs, located at 206 E. Washington Street, has stepped up to host a donation jar at its counter. The shop is also running a sale and has just stocked its fall collection — including shoes starting at just $25.
Organizer MaryLynn Peter stresses this event is different from other markets in the area because vendors are not charged a fee to participate. The focus is on supporting local makers and small businesses that are working to get established.
Residents are encouraged to visit the market this Saturday and shop from local vendors. Organizers also thanked Hawaiian Shave Ice with Food, which hosted a Dine to Donate event last month in support of the market.
“Supporting local business keeps our community strong,” Peter said. “Come shop the market this weekend and stop by Small Town Gal Boutique and Designs to show your support.”
