About 100 Clinton County residents gathered at TPA Park last night for a peaceful assembly in opposition to the proposed data center development.
The event served as both a rally and an educational session. Attendees heard about Indiana’s constitution, how citizens can lawfully instruct their government, and the principles of fundamental law. Two notaries were on hand to assist residents in submitting sworn statements, which will be delivered to local officials ahead of the Sept. 2 public hearing on the rezoning request tied to the project.
Organizer Katelyn Greeno expressed gratitude for the turnout, saying the gathering demonstrated the community’s ability to unite.
“I am so grateful to all the residents who came out. It was the first time I’d met nearly all in attendance and it’s heartwarming that our community can pull together, even when we don’t personally know each other, to consult for our common good. In addition, I hope some seeds of knowledge were planted and that more people take interest in learning our State and Federal constitutions, and holding our elected officials to that contract so that we can return to a form of government that the founders intended for us,” Greeno said.
The upcoming public hearing on Sept. 2 will determine whether county officials approve the rezoning of land for the proposed data center.
