Jordan Brewer Announces Re-Election Bid For Clinton County Commissioner

Clinton County Commissioner Jordan Brewer has officially declared his intention to seek re-election in the 2026 election cycle.

First appointed to the position through a caucus in 2020 and later elected in 2022, Brewer has built a reputation as a results-driven leader focused on infrastructure development, public health, and sustainable economic growth. His approach aims to bridge Clinton County’s strong agricultural roots with a vision for a vibrant and thriving future.

During his term, Brewer has overseen several key projects, including the construction of a one-million-gallon elevated water storage tank and the expansion of utilities infrastructure from the annexed area of Frankfort to the I-65 corridor. One of his most impactful initiatives was the renegotiation of the Republic Landfill contract, which secured a one-time payment of $1.5 million for the county and significantly increased ongoing Tipping Fee revenue—expected to bring in more than $8 million over the lifespan of the landfill.

Clinton County was also recognized by the Indiana County Commissioners’ Association with the Outstanding Team Effort Award for its innovative use of opioid settlement funds. Under Brewer’s guidance, the county ensured that 100% of the funds are allocated toward prevention and treatment efforts.

“Our goal has always been to put the community first,” Brewer said. “We’ve made real progress in strengthening our infrastructure, investing in public health, and creating smart, long-term opportunities for growth. But there’s more work to do. I’m running for re-election to keep delivering results that matter to Clinton County families.”

Brewer, who received the Governor’s Leadership Award in 2023, currently serves as President of the Clinton County Commissioners and Chair of the Clinton County Republican Party. A lifelong resident of Clinton County, he brings experience as a farmer, small business owner, and finance professional to his public service.

Beyond government leadership, Brewer is active in youth outreach, particularly through basketball clinics and his support for the Clinton Prairie basketball program. These efforts focus not only on athletic development but also on sportsmanship and personal responsibility.

Looking ahead to the 2026 campaign, Brewer said he will focus on continuing the momentum of the past six years. His priorities include the restoration of the historic courthouse, enhancing government efficiency, and promoting economic development that respects the county’s rural identity while positioning it for long-term success.
